| Forshadowing of the Year Ahead of Us?
I have to say, I have experienced more new things in the first 48 hours of this year and than I have ALL of the year prior. Well, maybe not REALLY...but it sure feels like it!!!
January 1, 2004; 12:00:10 - Chipped my first tooth on a Martenelli's bottle celebrating in festivities of the new year. It's small, hardly noticable but..
January 1, 2004; That Evening - Went Ice Skating for the first time! It was so much fun! I actually don't think I did THAT bad either...after I kinda got the hang of it! I only fell ONCE! *looks for support..* LOL, Jk. Thanks for inviting me, Nicole! Let me know about the whole disco roller derby thing! Haha..that'll be awesome.
January 2, 2004 - (Here's the big stuff) This morning I continued shooting Spenser's "War Epic", along with Lee, Johnny Hauwyre, J.J., Jarrett, Nathan and Nick. So, uh...basically the premise is that John is a Palastinian Soldier that gets shot and taken capture by the Isrealies and then goes insane. Well, today we decided to shoot the scene where John's character is discovered by an Isreali soldier in a bunker. Being that the location for our movie actually takes place at Santiago Park in Santa Ana, Spenser thought that the closest looking thing to an Isreali bunker would be in the sewer.
So we entered the sewer, VERY unaware of what we would soon experience. We followed the tunnel about a good maybe half a mile in where there was a bit more of a wider open that looked sort of "cell-like". Now to add some extra spice to the scene Spense thought the it would make it creepier if the soldier found John's character naked, proficizing verses from the koran on the cold cement walls with the blood of his own broken fingers. Now, I just want to state that John was asked/warned of all this plenty before we actually got in the sewer/storm drain. But, nontheless, you have my buddy John, sitting in a sewer, convulsing against the cement wall, covered in fake blood and wearing nothing but a gas mask and tan biker shorts, in almost total darkness all for the sake of artistic student film making. And we were directly below some sort of a manhole so it was raining on us. Let me just say that I have gained a new respect for John Haworth.
It was so creepy down there, spiderwebs everywhere, not to mention half way through shooting water started rushing behind us. We continued on bearing through it, I mean, it wasn't TOO bad...at first... The rushing water eventually got so bad that we were forced to leave relying on the footage we got, but I'm sure we got a lot of good stuff to choose from, I mean, It MUST'VE been authentic enough, not to mention all the shit we went through to shoot it!
The trek back was the biggest adventure yet...as we all were forced to walk bow-legged as not to step in the deep stream of water through the tunnel, but after a few fallen comrades slipping in the mud on the side of the cylindrical walls we decided to just walk through the stream of water above my ankles. And then further ahead we ran into a waterfall leading from the drains higher on the side of the walls...you can only imagine the hell we went through. I've never been so excited to see the light of day. It's interesting though, after that experience I kinda feel almost invincable. So yea...I don't know exactly what you'd call it but THAT was definately a first. Heh.

Okay, so maybe it's only been a few new experiences, but I still feel entitled to say that I've had a very interesting year ALREADY! And I've definately learned a new meaning to the phrase "there's a first time for everything". I wonder if this is any sort of clue as to how the rest of the year will carry out... .
BTW, Kelly Clarkson isn't the World Idol....that makes me sad. I like the Norweigen guy but...c'mon...Kelly is SO talented ...and beautiful. Damn.
I wish all of you guys a very happy and fun New Year! I know I will! Oh yea, and SAFE. Reeeel SAFE.
